Over 180 people attended SNYFGP’s Northeast Energy Direct (NED) pipeline forum at Nassau Sportsmen Club on Saturday, including club leadership, concerned citizens, local officials and journalist Siobhan Barton, who wrote about it in today’s Register-Star.

It was the group’s most well-attended event so far, and featured special guests Rosemary Wessel of No Fracked Gas In Mass and MassPLAN‘s Jim Cutler, who delivered an extensive presentation about compressor stations like the one proposed for Rensselaer County in close proximity to the club.

Following an open discussion, during which residents and club members expressed their many concerns about the proposed pipeline, which would run directly through the club’s property and impact many of its events and activities, members of SNYFGP narrated a PowerPoint presentation detailing the NED proposal and its threats to human health, public safety, the environment and landowner rights.

For more information about what you can do to oppose energy giant Kinder Morgan’s plans to build this large, high-pressure pipeline, which would link the fracking fields of Pennsylvania with the East Coast across three states, please review our Web site or contact us at info@stopnypipeline.org
