On Thursday, February 5th at 6:00 p.m., Stop NY Fracked Gas Pipeline will host an open community forum about the three-state Northeast Energy Direct (NED) pipeline project, and its currently proposed route through the Rensselaer County towns of Nassau, Schodack and Stephentown, at Stephentown Fire Hall.

The event will present information about the many potential heath, public safety and financial impacts of the proposed 36″ high-pressure pipeline and its related infrastructure, such as the large compressor station that would be required, with a special emphasis on the rights of individual landowners. Questions from the public are welcome.

A series of open houses hosted by the project’s parent company, Kinder Morgan, are scheduled for the following week, including a recently relocated event for Rensselaer County residents on February 9th at the Green Meadow Elementary School Cafeteria in Schodack/Castleton-On Hudson from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
